RE: annoying??????????

Where are you seeing these things? It actually bothers me more to see writing like yours. But I agree colors and details are important.

RE: Off to Florida soon

I did three weeks in Key West in February for years in the 80's and 90's just to thaw out from the 20 F of upstate NY. The warmth of the sun soaked into my bones and lasted until spring. I kept a picture of a tropical island behind my desk at work just to remind me, and if I was cold, it would warm me up just looking at it. Your going to love it. (I moved here in 1999 and love it)

RE: CA dealer sells motorhomes at 50% discount

Of course they are three, two, one years old. Maybe never regestered, but depreciated just sitting on the dealers lots. The banks won't finance these as new, they would loose out if defaults occured. MSRP and dealer add ons to it are 40%to 50% above dealer cost to begin with.

RE: Florida Travel Nurses

It all depends on size and time of year.

RE: Dry camping or cheap spots in Key west FL

Forget it unless you find a private property that has hook-ups. Even then they are getting $150 a night. Try craigs list Key west.

RE: My Generator keeps triping it's 20 Amp breaker

Sometimes the fan shafts get rusted to the point they won't move or are hard to get started. That causes the amperage draw to over load and can trip the breaker. With every thing turned off, see if the shaft the fan is on is free, if not, hit it with some liquid wrench to penitrate the rust built up on the shaft. Let it work in and the turn the shaft by hand until it feels free. This of course requires removal of the shroud and while doing it, it's a good idea to clean the leaves and dirt out, so the drip pan can weep out the condensation.

RE: fuel smell in cabin after shutting off motor

Fuel injection systems use special reinforced rubber hose for fuel line hose. The replacement with regular hose that is rated for non fuel injection can cause leaks. There are two lines a supply and a return. They go to an accumilator that dispurses the correct ammount of fuel to the injection system. The rest goes back to the fuel tank though the return line. So you could have bad hose, leaking accumilator, or back pressure pushing fuel out of the egr valve housing. Look for leak tracks, that remove oil and leave a stain on areas where the gasoline is leaking. Check for cracked fuel lines, connections and other indication. Some leaks that are constant burn as the engine runs and then when it's shut off do not ignite but evaporate, thus smells of gasoline. Good luck finding it!

RE: The bridge in the Honda ad??

Yes, it looks like the ocean highway bridge in the Carmel area of California.

RE: How Would You Defend an Attack

Most people that walk, even with a dog, bring something like a golf club with them for any problems along the way. The areas you walk in should be checked by driving through and if dogs are loose a call to athorities is justified, if a leash law is on the books. The dogs being walked are to be controlled by the person walking them as a matter of law. If they don't control them, they are liable for damages or injury. I learned to be aware of dogs running loose years ago in the 1950's before leash laws were on the books. I delivered the morning and afternoon newspapers and the dogs would be running after me while I road by on my bike. I would keep going and kick there noise if the went for my heals. The golf club works well as it allows you to reach the dogs before they get to close. Loud yells and threats by swinging the club also deters them. The best defense is, of course, an offense, which is how the dogs themselves scare humans.

RE: water heater wont stay lit

They have sensors that are on the tank that sometimes get loose or wires loosen. Check them all including the ground wires.

RE: gas water won't stay on

There are sensors that operate to shut off gas when temperature is reached. They are about the size of a dime, with flanges to attach them to tank. Sometimes the get loose and sometimes the wires get loose to them and controller. Then there is the thermocouple that senses if the gas is burning outside the chamber. It shuts off the gas too, but usualy by melting, and then it has to be replaced. The sensors are probably the problem, they may need replacement if you see they are attached correctly and wires are Ok. They may have gone bad inside, as they are sealed units.

RE: selling my mh

Ebaymotors, craigs list, consign it, trade it for a car or suv, many dealers now take anything in trade.

RE: The purpose of air bags?

The shifting of weight as you drive hooked up will be much less with air bags. They are stiffer, and save your springs from overworking. When not towing they need to be deflated to minimum. When hooked up you adjust them so load is level. You can't do that without them.

RE: water heater problem

Try starting it with long noised hand propane starter. Could be the spark is to weak due to low battery.

RE: Tire question

Tires are limited to the wheel maximum rating for size. Stamped on the wheels is the wheel size. Start there and then if you have rear duals you will have to stay sized so the duals don't touch. You can go to widder on front but then they can't be rotated to rear duals if they are going to touch. You have further options if you replace wheels that will handle a wider tire. That would be subject to the chassis you have. The tires are rated for load also which is not to excede the axle rating. A higher rated load tire can be driven on with less air if your load is less, that gives you a softer ride.

RE: Stale air?

I live in Florida also and always keep the awning windows, (ones that crank out), open and the roof vents (max air covers) open and have no problem with odors. The "P" traps also need to be treated with chemicals or mold grows in them.

RE: What is the best way to charge battery

The batteries have an hour rating. They will only last that long. If you get better batteries they will last longer. 335 hour batteries are about $139 each. You can solar charge them too.

RE: After Reading Many Posting I am a Little Confused

However, with the stock suspension you may want to add air bags to allow the adjustment of ride on the Chevy. That will depend on the size of the 5 er.
